The most common male skin problem is dry skin.  If you have dry skin, it is probably on your legs, hands, and arms.  The normal cause of dry skin is the loss of the natural thin layer of fats and oils that create a protective barrier (your skins natural force field) for your skin.  The regular culprits here are:

Long hot showers and baths:  I'm guilty of this one.  Taking showers that are too long or too hot can wash away your skins natural protective oils.  Try taking shorter showers and turn the water temperature a little more toward the cool side.  No need to come out of the shower all shivering and teeth chattering.  Just a little cooler than you would normally like, yet still comfortable.  This will help prevent you from washing your natural skin oils down the drain and make you feel energized and invigorated.

Dry air (especially cold winter air):  Unfortunately, you can't change the weather and living in dry climates can be tough on your skin.  Even tougher if you live were the winters are very cold.  If this is where you live, you should moisturize regularly.  You may also consider a humidifier for your home to raise the moisture in the air to a comfortable level.

Soap that is harsh or abrasive or scrubbing your skin too hard when you bathe:  Why treat your skin like a wood shop project?  No need to get the sandpaper out.  Again, doing this will strip off your natural skin protecting oils.  Use a mild soap and don't scrub…be gentle.

Tight clothing that chafes the skin: Pretty self explanatory.  If you wear tight clothes, you know this can be a problem.  You may want to avoid coarse material like wool and stick to cotton.

Prescription medicine side effects or skin disease:  I'm not a doctor, so if you suspect that your dry skin may be caused by either of these reasons, please consult with your physician or dermatologist.

So now you have identified the cause of your dry skin.  Take a moment to tell your skin that you are sorry for the years of mistreatment and that you'll do much better going forward.
