All men are not created equal.  We all have different body shapes and sizes.  No matter what your shape or size is, the important factor is that you feel comfortable in what you are wearing.  Even so, here are some male fashion tips based upon body size and shape.

Big Guys.  If you are a big and tall guy (maybe even a little overweight), you know it can be tough to find clothes that fit well.  For the best look, make sure to:

1. Go dark:  Ask any women and she will tell you that black is the color to make you look thinner.  If you are overweight, where black for its slimming effect.  Navy blue, dark gray and dark brown are very good for this, too.

2. Watch the patterns.  I love the Hawaiian style pattern shirts.  These are just fine, but make sure the rest of your outfit is plain and un-patterned.  Mixing patterns all over will make you look overweight.

3.  Visit the pro shop.  Shop for your clothes at a men's big and tall store.  You know from experience that shopping at the regular department store will only get you shirts with sleeves that are too short and pants that barely go past your ankles.  The big and tall store caters to you and you won't be disappointed.

Here are two great sites for your quality big and tall clothing needs:

Short Guys.  You want to go for clothes that will make you look taller.  Short guys should:

1.  Wear pants that fall past the ankle: While this is a good rule to follow for all men, this is crucial for short men. Your slacks should have a natural break at the top of your foot. Pants that fall shorter than that risk making your legs look shorter.

2.  Stick to monochromatic looks: When you wear similar colors from head-to-toe, it helps to give you a "longer" look.  You don't have to wear a navy blue shirt and navy blue slacks, but a blue shirt in any shade matched up with dark blue slacks will give you a longer look than a red shirt with gray pants.

Muscle Men.  If you're the guy that works out all the time and you've got a great and fit shape, then you can take advantage of these fashion tips:

1.  Don't go too tight.  If you work your thighs a lot, you may have a hard time finding pants that are roomy in this area.  Shop around until you can find a decent brand that makes pants that are not too tight on your legs.  You will be more comfortable.

2.  Get the correct size.  You worked hard to get your body in shape and you want to show it off…but don't wear clothes that are too tight.  Make sure you have enough room in your shirts and sport coats that give your arms plenty of room to swing around.  A good rule is that you should be able to flex without popping the seams.

Round is a shape.  No sugar coating here…Stand up and look down.  If you can't see your feet, then you need to follow these fashion tips to help hide your stomach and draw attention away from it.

1.  Wear your pants around your waist.  Buy pants in the correct waist size, no matter how much it hurts your ego.  You want your pants to fit around your natural waist.  You do not want your belly to hang over the top of your pants.

2.  Go for stripes.  …but make sure they are vertical (up and down).  Vertical stripes have a thinning illusion.  Make sure the stripes are narrow in order to get the best effect.

3.  Dark is good.  Like the big and tall man, the darker shades have a slimming effect.

4.  Avoid loud patterns.   Busy patterns will accentuate your shape.  You want darker solid patterns.
