3. Keep your face moisturized. Most men skip this step, but you won't. After you have cleaned and patted your face dry, apply a good men's face moisturizer. Most aftershave lotions will have this quality. Make sure to apply moisturizer on those days you don't shave. This is most important in the cold and dry winter season. Be sure to avoid products that contain mineral oils and alcohol. The oil clogs your pores and the alcohol dries out your skin.
4. Use a facial toner. Toners cleanse and tighten facial pores and remove any dirt that was not cleaned away after washing and/or shaving. On days you shave, use toner before applying your aftershave lotion. On days you don't, use the toner after you clean, but before applying your moisturizer.
5. Watch the smell. Avoid male face care products that are heavily scented. You don't want the scent of your cleanser, moisturizer, and toner doing battle with your aftershave, cologne, and deodorant.
6. Use facial products made for men. A man's skin is thicker and oiler than a women's. Using products designed for men will ensure that you are getting the correct balance of moisturizers and ingredients that you need. Skin care products designed for men are better scented and formulated for your skin care needs you. Alford & Hoff have a great men's product line (click below)
